The 49ers fell to 1-10 at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. It was the 49ers' eighth straight loss to Seattle, dating back to 2014.

It was a one-point game at the half, with the 49ers trailing 7-6. The Seahawks pulled away in the second half, outscoring the 49ers 17-0. Russell Wilson provided most of the offense for Seattle, going 20-of-34 for 228 yards with two touchdowns and an interception to Eric Reid on the game's first play. It was the first time in Wilson's career that he has been intercepted on the first play of a game.

C.J. Beathard got the start for the 49ers and struggled most of the day. He was never able to get comfortable in the pocket, as the fierce Seattle pass rush hit him 13 times and sacked him three times. Beathard finished the day 22-of-38 for 201 yards and an interception. He left the game late after a hit to his knee.

However, the story of this game will undoubtedly be the last sequence.

Jimmy Garoppolo entered the game for Beathard with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter to a rousing ovation. He ran for a first down on his first play and then completed his first two passes.

Garoppolo ended the game with an exclamation point by throwing a 10-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Louis Murphy. He looked poised in the pocket and scrambled to his left before hitting Murphy near the sideline for the touchdown.

Carlos Hyde struggled to get anything going, rushing for 47 yards on 16 carries. He was the 49ers' leading receiver with seven catches. The running game overall never really got going as the 49ers started the game with five punts on their first six possessions and throwing an interception during the other series.

The defense played well in the first half, holding Seattle to seven points but ultimately couldn't stop Wilson from making plays in the second half. They failed to record a sack but hurried Wilson for much of the day. In addition to his interception, Reid led the team in tackles (7). Reuben Foster was second on the team with six.

The 49ers were penalized seven times for 74 yards, including a questionable pass interference penalty against Dontae Johnson late in the third quarter that gave Seattle 1st-and-goal. The Seahawks proceeded to score a touchdown to make it 21-6 and never looked back.

Still, the story of the game will most definitely be Garoppolo. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will have a decision to make on who to start next Sunday in Chicago.

Next game: December 3rd at Chicago (10 a.m. PST)

49ers mailbag: Who replaces Hufanga? Which players need to step up? Did Danny Gray fall out of favor?

By Marc Adams
Nov 22

It's an exciting time to be a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. And if you asked fans what they're most thankful for, when it comes to the team, you'd get a variety of answers, mostly players and coaches. But one thing all fans can be thankful for is that Jed York has allowed Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch to do what they want. What those two have done has the 49ers far removed from the bleak days in Santa Clara before they arrived. So there's a lot to be thankful for if you're a fan of the 49ers. Speaking of those fans, we opened up the 49ers Webzone Mailbag to grab your questions. So let's jump in and see what questions we can answer: Which positional battle on Thursday are you more concerned about: 49ers WRs vs Seattle DBs, or 49ers DBs vs Seattle WRs? - Scott

49ers Notebook: Nine years later, 49ers get Thanksgiving revenge over Seahawks; Shanahan, Purdy discuss key throws vs. Seahawks; What happened to Christian McCaffrey's helmet?

It took nine years, but the San Francisco 49ers finally got some payback on Thursday night for the Seattle Seahawks feasting on turkey after a win at Levi's Stadium in 2014. The Seahawks' 19-3 win over the 49ers on Thanksgiving in 2014 was the last time either team played on Thanksgiving before Thursday night, and after that game then-Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and cornerback Richard Sherman dug into the postgame turkey at the 50-yard line of Levi's Stadium at a time when the rivalry between the two teams was at a peak. The 49ers flipped the script on Thursday, notching a 31-13 win over the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle that was followed by a slew of 49ers getting their fill of Thanksgiving turkey, courtesy of NBC. 49ers activate Samuel Womack, announce other roster moves ahead of Seahawks game

The San Francisco 49ers announced several roster moves ahead of tonight's Thanksgiving matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Cornerback Samuel Womack, who was sidelined with an MCL injury and placed on the injured reserve list on September 16, has been activated. Womack, a fifth-round draft pick from Toledo in 2022, had his practice window opened on November 6. To accommodate Womack's return, cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles has been waived. Jean-Charles, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury, played in five games for the team and recorded one tackle. Furthermore, the 49ers have activated offensive linemen Jesse Davis and Corey Luciano from the practice squad through standard

49ers vs. Seahawks Injury Report: O-line still working to get completely healthy

By David Bonilla
Nov 20

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 12 contest against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. Although the team did not practice on Monday, NFL rules mandate the release of a practice participation report ahead of a Thursday night game. The 49ers are obligated to estimate the level of participation players would have had if an actual practice had occurred. Safety Talanoa Hufanga suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will miss the remainder of the season. While guard Aaron Banks has missed the last two games, head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that the offensive lineman might be able to play against the Seahawks. Guard Spencer Burford also would not have
