News of the trade for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has dominated the headlines this week, but the San Francisco 49ers also have a game to plan for. The team will face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and the newly acquired quarterback is expected to be active for the matchup. However, rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard is expected to start the game, as he has done over the past two weeks.
The 49ers have three practices scheduled for this week, with the first taking place on Wednesday. All eyes were on Garoppolo during that first practice – his first with the team. Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Garoppolo was wearing a wristband during practice, which is likely to help him figure out the plays as his learning process moves to the practice field.
Below is some video by various beat writers of Garoppolo's first practice.
