San Francisco 49ers beat writer Chris Biderman of
USA TODAY Sports and
Niners Wire held a chat with fans via Facebook Live on
our official Facebook page. During the discussion, Biderman gave his thoughts on a myriad of 49ers related topics, including the staff possibilities for Kyle Shanahan, potential targets during free agency, options in the draft, and a lot more.
Biderman also shared his thoughts on the surprising hire of John Lynch as the new 49ers general manager, the front office group that he is trying to build around him, and the differences between him and former general manager Trent Baalke.
Another hot topic was Colin Kaepernick, who Biderman feels needs a change of scenery and believes that the 49ers should move on from the quarterback.
You can watch the entire Facebook Live chat below. Thank you to Biderman for spending the time to answer questions from our fans.

The San Francisco 49ers spent the last month of the 2020 season in Glendale, Arizona. The team was displaced from its home due to Santa Clara County COVID-19 restrictions banning contact sports. Kyle Shanahan and company tried to make it business as usual, even though the situation was about as unusual as it could get.
Even stranger was the fact that, at the time of the move, Maricopa County in Arizona was worse off when it came to COVID-19 than Santa Clara County. So, for the 49ers, their month-long home wasn't going to be any safer.
On Monday, Shanahan and general manager John Lynch sat down and spoke at length with reporters — via Zoom, of course. It had been less than 24 hours since the team arrived back in the Bay Area after completing the 2020 season

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch spoke with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic this week and was once again asked about the team's quarterback situation. Now, this was all before the buzz surrounding Deshaun Watson's disappointment in the Houston Texans and the potential trade talk that ensued. Hence, the focus was on the possibility that the 49ers might look to the first round of the draft to bolster the quarterback position.
Kawakami, as part of the interview on his podcast, The TK Show, asked Lynch if the 49ers might consider using their top pick on one of the highly-touted incoming rookie signal-callers.
"We certainly could," Lynch responded while

If cornerback Jason Verrett decides to stay with the 49ers past the 2020 season, perhaps the team's training staff may deserve some credit for an assist.
Verrett is one of the most intriguing cases among the long list of impending free agents on whom the 49ers must come to a decision before the start of the 2021 league year on March 18. Verrett has a long and difficult injury history that limited him to just six total game appearances from 2016 to 2019. But at age 29, he was finally able to stay mostly healthy throughout 2020 and put on a performance that showed he is still capable of being the type of player he was early in his career when he was selected to the 2015 Pro Bowl as a
