This means that the 49ers will now play two Sunday night primetime games in a row. The 49ers face the Patriots in New England this Sunday night.
The new matchup replaces the game between the New York Jets and the San Diego Chargers, which will move to 10:00 AM PT.
The 49ers are going after the NFC West lead as well as the second seed in the NFC playoffs. Also on the line is the single season sack record, which linebacker Aldon Smith is three sacks away from matching.
