With Garry Gilliam, their primary swing tackle still in the concussion protocol from an injury he sustained Aug. 9, the 49ers acquired their second offensive tackle in four days Monday by signing Matt Tobin to a one-year deal. Tobin, 28, has made 21 career starts in a six-year career spent with the Eagles, Seahawks and Patriots. Tobin was released by New England on Saturday after spending the offseason with the team. The signing comes after the 49ers traded a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Browns for Shon Coleman, who started 16 games at right tackle last year. The 49ers are carrying 10 offensive linemen, including five tackles, on their roster.
