49ers-Buccaneers Injury Report: Hyde won’t play against Bucs, Ward will play

RB Carlos Hyde has not participated in practice this for the San Francisco 49ers. Prior to practice on Tuesday, he was seen walking out to the practice field with his right arm in a sling. The injury occurred during the third quarter of Sunday's 49ers 45-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Hyde said that the injury is not long term and that he should only miss Sunday's game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He plans to return to play against the New Orleans Saints following the team's bye week. "It's definitely not long-term, which is good," Hyde said on Wednesday.
Mike Davis replaced Hyde while the 49ers' starting running back was on the sideline on Sunday. Davis and Shaun Draughn are the only other running backs on the team's 53-man roster. The 49ers do have two running backs on the practice squad in DuJuan Harris and rookie Kelvin Taylor.
"(DuJuan Harris is) another guy that's shown some things from a practice standpoint to try to really find out who that number two guy is behind Carlos," head coach Chip Kelly said on Monday.
"Kelvin's done a nice job," Kelly said today. "Like any young player, first year in the league, there's a learning curve that goes on. Especially with running backs transitioning from the college level to the NFL with just protection."
Hyde has 429 yards on 109 carries and six touchdowns so far this season. He has averaged 3.9 yards per carry.
CB Jimmie Ward stated that he would be available for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. His status has been said to be week-to-week and Ward has missed three games since suffering a quadriceps strain during the second quarter of the 49ers' Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Ward informed the media that he has been working at both cornerback and nickel this week in preparation for the Buccaneers.
That's good news for the 49ers who may be without rookie CB Rashard Robinson, who suffered a concussion during the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bills. He is in the league's mandatory concussion protocol this week and his status is unknown.

49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick
The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
