Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott spoke to 49ers beat writers today and was asked about two San Francisco cornerbacks. The first was Will Redmond, who the 49ers selected in the third round of this year's draft and is currently on the Injured Reserve list. Redmond was a former teammate of Prescott at Mississippi State. The second was Rashard Robinson, who was selected in the fourth round – just two picks prior to Dallas selecting Prescott.

"You all are going to have a special player and a special defensive back when he gets out there and he's able to get on the field and be 100-percent," Prescott said of Redmond. "He was a guy that definitely made me better – that I looked forward to each and every day going against him in practice. Just how smart he was, how savvy he was and disguising as much as he could in his coverages or just trying to set you up to throw something that he could break on it."

"I know he's a longer guy," said Prescott of Robinson, who he faced in 2014. "I think what? He's 6-2 or something. I remember just his size was coming off the charts. The thing that you notice in college, you don't see many guys that big with that range and he's another guy that was just an athlete. Like I said, long arms that could play the ball well in the air. Yeah, he made some plays on us in college."

The 49ers and Cowboys will kick off on Sunday, October 2 at 1:25 p.m. The game will take place at Levi's Stadium.

49ers to host Marshawn Kneeland and Jamal Hill on pre-draft visits

The San Francisco 49ers' evaluation of draft prospects is underway. As part of their assessment, the team will welcome two players for visits: former Western Michigan edge rusher Marshawn Kneeland and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill. San Francisco recently agreed to terms on two-year deals with defensive ends Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos, bolstering its pass rush. However, after losing Clelin Ferrell in free agency and facing the likelihood of Chase Young playing elsewhere in 2024, the team appears keen on adding more explosiveness along the edges through the draft. Kneeland registered 57 tackles, including 7.5 for a loss, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 10 game appearances with Western Michigan as a senior in 2023, per
