49ers assign jersey numbers to 2016 rookie class

The San Francisco 49ers announced jersey numbers for the team's 2016 rookie class. The team completed their rookie minicamp over the weekend, which allowed the 49ers' new coaching staff to evaluate the rookies as a unit for the first time.

As Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee stated over the weekend, numbers for many of these players may be temporary and subject to change once the roster is reduced to 53 spots. However, they will be worn for the remainder of the team's offseason.

As noted by 49ers.com, the one player who's number is safe is first-round selection DeForest Buckner. He will remain number 99, so it is safe for fans to order his jersey.
