Mississippi State
CB Taveze Calhoun has had or will have workouts with the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per Aaron Wilson of the
Houston Chronicle.
He also had or will have visits with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. It wasn't clear if the workouts and visits had happened already.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot and 192-pound Calhoun had a 40-time of 4.58 seconds and a vertical jump of 33.5 inches.
Lance Zierlein of
NFL Media had the
following to say in his draft profile:
High-character leader whose overall intelligence translates into positive plays on the field. Calhoun doesn't have good deep speed but finds ways to cover up his speed deficiency while still making plays on the throws underneath. A failure to run well would be a huge concern because he lacks the physicality as a tackler to be a full-time zone corner. Late Day 3 draft pick or camp invite might be his door into the NFL.
