Today, the NFL fined San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde $23,152 for unnecessary roughness. The play in question came against the New York Giants on Sunday night. During the play, Hyde was said to have led with the crown of his helmet on a hit that caused LB Jon Beason to suffer a concussion.
G/T Alex Boone, who was also involved in the play, was not fined. Beason has accused Boone of pushing him in the back into Hyde. He feels that the push is what actually led to the concussion. Beason called the incident "a coward move."
Hyde, who is recovering from a sore foot, is expected to play on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
