Here is what some of the San Francisco 49ers beat writers had to say about today's joint practice with the Broncos that was held in Denver.

The 49ers and Broncos play an exhibition game on Saturday at Sports Authority Field At Mile High in Denver. Kickoff is at 6 PM Pacific.

The 49ers tried to get back to work on Thursday, the first day linebacker Ahmad Brooks was no longer with the team after being charged with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Aaron Lynch and Corey Lemonier lined up with the 49ers' first-team defense. Lynch was moved into the starting lineup when he was cleared after an offseason back condition to begin 11-on-11 work last week.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick hit undrafted rookie wide receiver DeAndrew White for a 50-yard touchdown pass over Denver's backup free safety Omar Bolden.

Inside linebacker Michael Wilhoite, who returned to work with the first team defense after missing the first three weeks of training camp with a calf strain, dropped into coverage and made a leaping interception of a Peyton Manning pass attempt.

Matt Barrows, The Sacramento Bee:

Gabbert -- who doesn't go down-field too often -- lofted a perfectly thrown pass over the defense and into the arms of rookie DeAndrew White, who then outraced cornerback Kayvon Webster for what would have been a 45-, 50-yard touchdown.

Safety Jimmie Ward, who was teamed with ex-high school teammate Jaquiski Tartt with the second-team defense, had an interception. So did Michael Wilhoite, who was seen running extra wind sprints after practice.

Starting cornerback Tramaine Brock suffered a "tinge" of his hamstring and left practice. He is not expected to be out long.

Linebacker Nick Moody hurt his left knee during a punt-return drill. He watched the rest of practice from the sideline and afterward walked off under his own power. His injury also is not believed to be severe.
