The San Francisco 49ers square off with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, in a matchup between the top two teams in the NFC West. Earlier this season, the 49ers defeated the Seahawks, 13-6, at Candlestick Park. San Francisco holds a 14-13 edge in the all-time series and have won four consecutive games against the Seahawks, the longest streak in franchise history.
Last week, San Francisco (10-3-1) defeated the New England Patriots, 41-34, securing the team's second consecutive trip to the playoffs. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick tossed a career-high 4 TD passes, the most by any 49ers quarterback since 2003. Wide receiver Michael Crabtree notched his 3rd, 100-yard game of the season, hauling in 7 receptions for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, the 49ers defense forced 4 turnovers, which led to 14 points. Defensive tackle Ray McDonald notched a career-high 2 sacks as the defense limited Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to his lowest QB rating at home since 2007.
The Seahawks (9-5) are coming off of a 50-17 win over the Buffalo Bills. It was their second consecutive game scoring 50 or more points.
