I posted the same question before and it vanished. Is it some law that we have to run up the middle on 1st Down?

the better question is why the $#E$ does gabbert ALWAYS throw short of the sticks on third down in clutch time? Why is he still our starting qb? My 7 year old daughter understands the concept of throwing past the first down markers on third down. This team is so frustrating on so many levels. Gabbert is garbage.
