Yeah. And our receiving corps is better. Go figure.

16 drops in 7 games=2.285714286 drops per game.

That projects to 36-37 drops for the season.

Crabtree, Boldin, and Davis account for 12 of the 16 drops.

In 2013, we had 26 drops.
In 2012, we had 31 drops.
In 2011, we had 32 drops.

Like to gauge where we are after the bye week. Some of those teams played less then us and will catch up. I suspect our number overall will go down. Not a bunch, but I don't think we'll be 7 after Monday. What I think is alarming is that Dallas is looking good in most statistical categories on both sides of the ball and especially in the win/loss column. Perhaps this is their year to be the Cinderella team. Man...what a bummer...I really dislike JJ and his smug BS.

Until all the teams have had their byes, the numbers will a little off.

The next time, I look at dropped passes, I will give a pass dropped per game number.

I wonder if these DIVA type of players will agree on "deduction per drop" on their contract.. uhmmm, let say....

- $2000 per simple drops

- $5000 on drops that woulda result a 1st down

- $20,000 on TD drops

- $50,000 on winning TD drops

while the refs performances will also get reviewed every Tuesday evening and gets deducted for blown calls and wrong calls...

wacha all think??

I think you need to be more specific about which players you are talking about.

Crabtree, Davis, and Davis lead the team in drops.

I would not by any stretch of the imagination call Boldin a diva.

Since Crabtree ended his hold out, he has done to make me think that he is a diva.

Davis, even though his brand thing seems weird, has not acted like a diva.

I think you confused me.

You probably might get that kind of concession from a UDFA or low round pick, unlikely a star player or high round pick will agree to that.

I don't think Kaepernick's ability is the limiting factor this year. There may have been some of that last year with the lack of receivers.

I would just point out that Harbaugh is not a fool and he's probably been fashioning an offense he thinks fits the team at the time. In 2012, he had two different QB's and the offense was in a state of flux - running is the safest route. In 2013, he really didn't have what anyone would call a deep receiving corps. Most of the season, he had one good possession receiver and one good Tight end. You can't build a sophisticated passing game with that. He also had a QB who was clearly being forced to play in a style out of his comfort zone.

This year, Kaepernick gets another full off-season, has a deep group of good receivers, may have at least one legitimate speed threat on the outside. At this point, I'm going to take the coaches at their word that we'll see a bit of expansion in the passing game. I don't expect to see 4 receiver spreads or anything like that. But, I'll be surprised if we don't see some legitimate 3-receiver sets. 3 receivers, Davis and one running back could present challenges to defenses who have been gearing up to stop a run-first team.

I still think this offense is one more draft away from it's full potential. Otherwise, its a good foundation for Colin. I agree with DeUh when he says he'd rather draft O Linemen right now than WR's because of the fact that without pass protection, even if you have 5 Jerry Rice's on your team, it's useless if your QB is buried under a DE and a DT and doesn't have the time to throw.

Because Harbaugh has never drastically changed his game plans, at any level, regardless of available personnel.

At this point, the Niners are attempting an average of 33 passes a game compared to an average of 26 last season.

It's a change, but not much of a change.

On third downs, Kaepernick is 43 of 67; a third completion rate of 64.2%.

Seems like this coaching staff on offense doesnt know when or how to fully utilize the talent on our offense!!

Need a speedy Z receiver to utilize Anquan fully in the slot.

Very Nice. That's up from last year, I'm pretty sure. I think last year we were in the low to mid 30's.
