Perrish Cox

Am I the only fan that thinks Perrish Cox is a beast? Everyone talks about drafting a CB early but every time I seen Cox in the game he looks pretty good to me. He should of had an interception on Flacco in the Superbowl but Torrey Smith Offensively interfered. IMO the weakness in the secondary is Whitner's coverage and or covering those quick slot WRs like Harvin, Cruz, Amendola.

It never hurts to have enough good cornerbacks, Brock will be gone and ultimately the 49ers need another in case they can't re-sign Brown, or to simply let Rogers on his merry way.

We'll draft a CB circa round 5 to (hopefully) push Brock out the door. We'll probably look at a round 1 or 2 CB next season though, the wild cards are getting TB inked to an extension because he is an above average cover man and whether or not Carlos Rogers is a surprise cap cut. Having TB, Cully, and an early round stud in 2014 is probably the most likely scenario.

I do hope that Cox showed enough promise to warrant Rogers' release though. Moving Cox to slot corner and drafting a big bodied backup on day 2 is my ideal off season for the CB position.

I like Parish Cox as a NB or a DB and as a blitzer. He should been used more as a nickel blizter. He has the size and tackling ability, I hope he comes back next year
I thought he'd have been used more often during the season
I think he can start and play at a PRO BOWL level if given an opportunity. Just seen so many mocks where a CB is taken in the first 4 rounds and if a guy as talented as Cox isn't getting any PT....what does one expect a rookie to do?

T. Brown is lockdown aside from Julio Jones in the 1rst half and Rodgers only struggles with those quick slot WRs. Culliver is good will only get better, had one bad game and CB becomes our most pressing need? I think he got distracted with all that homo talk leading to the superbowl, or maybe the Ravens were getting in his ear telling him they were gay, and he got homophobic. anybody see him jump over Jacoby Jones then his tackle attempt on him and Boldin drag him for a ride? that was a joke haha but defensively I think fatigue is a big part to why the defense gives up so many points. How many times has our defense been on the field for say a 5-6 minute drive for a FG and our explosive offense scores in a few minute and here comes the defense again to play man or that conservative cover 4 or cover 6. I believe next year we can afford to be more aggressive with Kaepernick leading the team.

Not expecting a lot of replies to this topic but just wanted to get the talent of Perrish Cox displayed and get him more respect than his madden rating shows
Its possible Parrish Cox has an off game. As an athlete with unusual talent, sometimes you wake up that day on and sometimes you aren't. But he is by no stretch of the imagination at fault for the Superbowl of course.

There was a lot more going on there.

I like Cox alot. But since this may be Rogers and Brown's last year as niners, they need to draft and groom a CB in round 2-4 IMO.

I like him too, its Rogers and Brock that blow
I like Cox too, and also thought we'd see more of him this year. I'm less worried about CB than most, and also like that Cox can serve as a backup punt returner should somebody (whoever takes the spot next year) goes down.
I like Perrish Cox and would like to bring in one more corner to solidify that group. We need to show Brock the door.

I sure hope not. He's our best overall corner imo. I wouldn't mind adding another CB in the first 4 rounds though. Rogers is lookin kinda old and slow and Brock needs to go. Besides WR I don't see any glaring needs in our O so If 3 of our first 4 picks go to the D i'd be just fine with that.
