He is a webzone favorite, but I think if the team wants to move forward, Delanie is not part of the plan.

Just look at Delanies stats, He SUCKS considering how many times he was on the field.

LOL...he's the backup TE in a run oriented offense who can't find a QB.

Part of the PROBLEM is not getting the ball to playmakers like Walker. Does he have a fumble problem? Yes, but so does Frank Gore. Is he a great in-line blocker? No, but name another recieving TE who is and is not named Vernon Davis.

I'm not saying the guy is the best TE in the NFL, but he is certainly in the top 5 of #2 TEs in the NFL.

Hes definitely a weapon at the #2 TE spot

when you can have your backup TE get 80 yards twice in one season, you know hes at least a little special as a backup

And its not that he fumbles a lot, he just fumbles at key moments of the game. Like the Saints game last year and the Eagles game before that, both were in the redzone. He only has 3 career fumbles. Just 2 lost

Can't get too excited. We had all that one the field last year as well. It didn't get us very far.

wonder why

JR: My plays are designed to gain only this much!
With me as the OC, any team will only go this far.

I second that. LOL! By the way, am I the only one who thinks he looks like Bill Cosby?

Pretty close

That guy fumbles too much. He will fumble as a backup TE or as a WR. He's still a fumbler.

Nice stat checking. I wasn't sure myself, but the plays that stick in my brain were those crucial ones, so my opinion of him has always been skeptical.

If they think he will be a good mismatch weapon, then sure, okay. I have rarely been impressed by him, but will easily defer to the coaches in putting the best 11 on the field.

Only 3 career fumbles

He's close to a fumble every time he touches it. He just recovers some of his own. And he doesn't play that much in the regular season. So 3 would be a lot for him based on total # of touches...

He has 83 career catches and 3 lost fumbles. Thats hardly a fumble every time he touches the ball. He has only recovered 2 of his own fumbles in his entire career, bringing his fumble total to a grand total of 5.

Throw in his rushing attempts and he has 91 touches vs 5 total fumbles, 3 lost.

His ratio compares favorably to other 3rd receiving options around the league if you check.

That's pretty bad. Some of the top RB's over history can touch it 300 times in a row without a fumble. His fumble #'s per # of touches are not good. In fact you can make a strong argument they are real bad.
