Kyle Williams

I really think he can be a playmaker at WR with his speed and hands (pass-catching hands that is... not return hands).

That being said, I still don't want to see him returning punts/kickoffs. Groom Cox for that.

or LMJ

Agreed. Although LMJ's offensive contributions might be too valuable to risk his health on special teams.

Unless he becomes a feature back for this team, which I doubt will ever happen, I don't think they will have a problem using him on special teams.

I can see both sides to the decision to run the reverse to Kyle, but I do agree with cciowa in thinking it was cute and ill advised. Just too many things that can go wrong with such a play. Our coach is an enigma for sure. In some cases, he'll play things close to the vest. In others, he will throw some wild plays in that will either look brilliant (Alex designed TD run) or just outright insane.

How is a reverse cute? The oline blocks down, you have one pitch and the ball carrier takes it to the corner.

It is a subjective adjective.. that is how.

To each their own, but I call plays like reverses, misdirection pulls, screens, RB/WR passes, etc. "cute plays." Still creative and perhaps effective as hell... but cute.

hmm i guess to each his own for real. I always figured cute plays were things like the passes to o linemen, flea flickers, running back throwing passes sure but screens, misdirection pulls and reverses are such staple of most NFL playbooks i think its past the term "cute" and more just regular plays. We always hear about how teams should employ screens to nuetralize ferocious pass rushes.

Yeah, and that's fine. Me? I just lump any play that suggests clever trickery as "cute" plays. On screens where you have the OL briefly hesitate (allowing defenders beyond them) so that they themselves can set up for a wide block in front of the RB outside? It's the offense tricking the defense into biting on the pass rush by committing themselves upfield, and zipping the ball outside with blockers ready.

Agreed. The screen, reverse and misdirection pull are some of the most common plays in every level of competitive football.

To me there was nothing wrong with Kyles hands, its his decision making to field the ball or not that messed it up. Again, I was mad, but some people on this board just can't forgive and move on. In case you forgot many a pro bowl niner has cost us before in the Championship game or other. As the saying goes,,,let he/she who is free of sin cast the first stone or in this case mistake free.

Take the high road and support the guy. Are you saying you never made a mistake or screwed up in life?
