Kyle Williams

^ guys, I think it's somewhere in the middle here.

Kyle has shown great hands at times to pluck the ball... occasionally better than most of the receivers we have had (which isn't saying that much).

He also has a whole lot more to prove before calling him special. Right now, I view him as quality depth at the # 3 thru # 5 spot.

We can't fairly call him special or great... we can't fairly call him teh suxxorz...
LMAO @ YOU GUYS!! :p

Oh, and when I say he has "GOOD" hands, I'm SPECIFICALLY referring to pass-catching. Not punt fielding. Also, no one said about him being special. You wanna talk about glasses, if I were you I'd get some glasses so you could see and realize the helpful assets he has that are STILL useful to be contributed to the team.

He couldn't even get open once in the NFCC game. Get yourself an NFL rewind ticket and watch the game from the coaches camera.

I am a season ticket holder and I rewatch games daily. Trust me I don't need you to remind me about any plays Kyle Williams has made or not made. I think he's a fine 3rd or 4th receiver. Every receiver in the NFL catches the balls that hit them in the hands. Not impressed at all. I guess you must have started watching football in 2005 so you really don't know what I great 49er looks like when he steps foot on the field.

How can you say this, and still claim to have watched all of our games?

Every receiver in the NFL is *supposed to* catch the balls that hit them in the hands.

I guarantee you I have watched every 49er offensive play from 2011 far more times than you have. I am a season ticket holder and I rewatch games daily. K, then you can agree that Kyle Williams was more impressive then both Edwards, AND Ginn at the WR spot? Right? Ginn had speed, but no hands. He made good catches, yes, but Williams made nicer catches more often then none. Kyle Williams is a DECENT, not "amazing", not "spectacular" not the "best" WR on our team. One thing that I agree with you on is yes, he has done nothing in the NFL. But sometimes it's the LITTLE things that still make him useful.

Williams was more impressive than 2011 Braylon Edwards and 2011 Ted Ginn at WR yes I will agree with you there..

I never said he wasn't useful, I like his physical skill set as a slot receiver/role player. Although in a clutch situation I would much rather see Manningham or Jenkins get the nod before Williams in the slot at least in 2012.

I do not think he is the most talented receiver on the team, which is what Joecool stated and I responded to. I think he is a decent receiver who is on the roster bubble.

Yeah in terms of pure talent, well, let's not get carried away... Williams is solid. To me he's like a fast Josh Morgan. Reliable hands, but with quickness. And the speed is just an added bonus. But yeah if people are talking about pure talent, I'd put Moss in first, Crabs second, and Manningham all in front of Kyle.
everyone calming down now?

This feels like an Alex Smith type thread

I would also put Jenkins ahead of Williams. He's taller, bigger, faster and smoother. You have to acknowledge the level at which they were drafted. While its not always an exact science, the majority of the starters in the NFL were first day picks. Jenkins was a first round pick, Kyle Williams a 6th round pick. Most of the reasoning for that is probably because of the difference in physical talent and not production.

Josh Morgan is 35 pounds heavier than Kyle Williams and plays like it. I think he's going to be very good in DC.

Didn't think of Jenkins. You could argue he is more than Williams. Looking forward to seeing how that translates onto game day.
