Yeah, that was a pretty big WTF?! I would've thought they'd go after Mooch instead of McCarthy if they wanted a West Coast Offense coach.

Ha, ha, ha...are you kidding? The Niners would be one of the top destinations for any coach. Shanahan, Gruden, Cowher, or Holmgren would love to coach this team. They have a stud at RB, WR, TE, ML, NT, and LT. They have two picks in the first round between 1-20 of what could be one of the deepest drafts ever.
Moreover, a QB rich draft, so they can get THEIR guy (which they will). Yes,

I know.. I just could not freaking believe that, I think it had to do with Thompson being familiar with him and McCarthy having coached Favre before (I do want to see Mooch in the NFL again tho, I have a feeling he was not the sole reason for Detroit being avg when he coached there)

~ Doesn't understand offense.
~ Doesn't have a clue how to develop QB's.
~ No HC experience.
~ Would provide excellent value for the front office (cheap).
