According to NFL.com, wide receiver Marcus Maxwell has been the surprise standout of camp for the Hamburg Sea Devils in NFL Europe. Maxwell was sent to NFL Europe in January to gain some experience.

Tavares Washington has been moved from the left tackle position to guard for the Rhein Fire.

Former 49ers struggling

Former 49ers wide receiver Rashaun Woods' injury problems just won't go away. He will begin the season on IR for the Hamburg Sea Devils. Former 49ers quarterback Cody Pickett was beat out for the Rhein Fire's starting job by the Chargers' Brett Elliott from little Linfield College.
