You can scratch one wide receiver off of the free agent list. The Miami Dolphins are likely to use the franchise tag on Jarvis Landry, according to Joe Shad of the Palm Beach Post. That means he will not hit free agency on March 14.
Landry, a three-time Pro Bowl selection who played college football at LSU, was a second-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2012. He has posted two seasons of 1,000-or-more yards in his four-year NFL career. In 2015, Landry registered 110 catches for 1,157 yards and four touchdowns. In 2016, he caught 94 passes for 1,136 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2017, Landry finished the season 13 yards shy of 1,000 yards but had 112 receptions, which led the NFL. He also had a career-high nine touchdowns and set the record for the most receptions through the first four seasons of a career.
