The San Francisco 49ers are coming off of their second-straight win and third in the past four games. Following the 26-16 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday, the excitement level inside the 49ers locker room at NRG Stadium was high. You can watch head coach Kyle Shanahan address his team in the video, courtesy of 49ers Media, below.

In the video, you can see 49ers CEO Jed York greeting players as they enter the locker room and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo receiving congratulations on his second win as a starter with the team. Then, Shanahan interrupts the team celebration to offer his congratulations and hand out game balls.

"The way we started out, we missed a number of big plays in that first quarter," Shanahan told his team. "It didn't phase any of you guys. I mean, the way Juice (Kyle Juszczyk) came back, Jimmy (Garoppolo), Quise (Marquise Goodwin), (Garrett) Celek-time. [Adrian Colbert] finished with the turnover, (Aaron) Lynch got the fumble, I think we had a couple of sacks there too. Special teams did a hell of a job too.

"I know there's a ton of guys from Houston who this is a big deal to. All you guys are getting game balls. I want to give one guy in particular. He won't tell anyone at all. He won't even say it, but it meant a lot. This is his first time coming back, and I want to give one to [equipment manager Jay Brunetti]."

This is Brunetti's first year with the 49ers. He spent 14 seasons with the Houston Texans from 2001 through 2014. He was in Houston when Shanahan was the receivers and quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator for the Texans.

Defensive tackle Arik Armstead is now a free agent after the San Francisco 49ers released him on Wednesday. However, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports that he was almost headed to the Houston Texans. A source told Barrows that on Tuesday, the 49ers had a deal in place to trade Armstead for Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins. However, the deal fell apart when the Texans agreed to terms with edge rusher Danielle Hunter. Despite the failed trade, the 49ers ended up acquiring Collins in exchange for a seventh-round pick, the No. 232 overall selection in next month's draft. Collins is the second defensive tackle San Francisco has added this week, with the

Nearly all NFL teams were represented at Arizona's pro day, with only three teams choosing to skip the event. The San Francisco 49ers were among those in attendance to scout the draft prospects, including potential first-round pick, tackle Jordan Morgan. The Niners currently hold 10 selections in the upcoming draft, with their first pick at No. 31 overall. Of note, it wasn't just any 49ers scout present at Arizona's pro day. NFL Draft Diamonds reports that it was the team's director of college scouting. Tariq Ahmad held that position before recently being promoted, along with R.J. Gillen, to co-directors of player personnel. It's assumed that NFL Draft Diamonds meant one of these two
