San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Friday that three players will be game-time decisions when the team faces the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Those three players are the only ones listed on the 49ers' official injury report, which was released on Friday. They are tackle Trent Brown (shoulder), safety Adrian Colbert (thumb), and corner Ahkello Witherspoon (ankle).

Brown is recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during a practice session last week.

"He looked better," Shanahan said of Brown. "He got more reps today than he has throughout the whole week. By no means is he for sure though. I think it will be very similar to last week."

Colbert is attempting to return from a broken thumb suffered on November 12 against the New York Giants. Witherspoon injured his ankle on Wednesday while trying to go for the football during practice, according to Shanahan.

The good news is that quarterback C.J. Beathard (knee, hip) appears to be healthy enough to suit up on Sunday and back up newly named starter Jimmy Garoppolo. Beathard was injured during the closing moments of Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

"He moved around well (in practice), plan on going in as the number two," Shanahan said of Beathard.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Bears. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports, which were provided by the 49ers Communications team.

By David Bonilla
Mar 18

The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand. Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Over the weekend, Ward took to social media to reveal that he and White share the same agent and that he is willing to nudge the free-agent defensive back in the right direction. Ward described White as a "hand in glove
