@nwagonerNew #49ers CB Darrell Luter Jr. was targeted less in 2022 and allowed a bit more production as a result but he was strong in press coverage, allowing a 19.8 QBR, ranking 12th in FBS.

@nwagoner#49ers make their first pick of the day, taking South Alabama CB Darrell Luter Jr. with pick No. 155. In 2021, he allowed a 22% completion rate and 4.3 QBR as primary defender in coverage.

@hutchdieselThe 49ers drafted South Alabama corner Darrell Luter Jr. with the 155th overall pick. Pretty athletic prospect

@LombardiHimselfSo far 49ers draft has gone along with what we could've expected based on clues entering it:-No trades of vets or future picks to enter 1st round-Yes on a smaller trade up in the third round-Selection of a kicker with one of the 3s-Top-30 visit S and TE pickedWhat's next?
-
Profile
@LombardiHimselfNo DTR to the 49ers, who studied him thoroughly. He goes to the Browns. I see an SF QB pick happening only with a lower-end pick (a 5th might qualify, but a 6th or 7th is more likely) so that there's no immediate pressure for that QB to make the 53-man roster
-
Profile
@CamInman140 picks into #NFLDraft and UCLA's Dorian Thompson-Robinson is 10th QB off the board (he's been banished to the Browns, after lot of 49ers' interest)
-
Profile
@LombardiHimselfIn my mock draft, I projected Cameron Latu to 49ers but in the 5th, not late in the 3rd.This corroborates the point that, based on current measurements, the pick was a reach.BUT the 49ers didn't have a 4th rounder and they obviously believe Latu is an ascending stock

@MaioccoNBCSThe #49ers selected kicker Jake Moody with Pick No. 99. Up or down on that decision?
-

@TracyFGSNAs the #49ers will most likely draft or sign a rookie quarterback, here are a few names to watch:Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA Max Duggan, TCUJaren Hall, BYU Clayton Tune, Houston Tanner McKee, Stanford

@hutchdieselAnd there goes Isaiah McGuire at 126 to the Browns. Thought he was a great option for the 49ers. Makes you wonder if they could've traded down from 101, maybe bridged the gap to R5

@MaioccoNBCSAfter the conclusion of the third round on Friday night, #49ers coach Kyle Shanahan deadpanned, "I still cant believe we didnt take a running back."The 49ers selected RBs in the third rounds of the past two drafts (Trey Sermon in 2021 and Ty Davis-Price in 2022).

@jenniferleechanAnother kicker is off the board with the Patriots selecting Maryland kicker Chad Ryland at No. 112. Is the #49ers choice now vindicated??
-
Profile
@TracyFGSNThe Patriots take kicker Chad Ryland at No. 112. It's almost as if the #49ers were right when they took the kicker they wanted at No. 99 because they knew he wouldn't be there much past it.
-
Profile
@hutchdieselThe second kicker in the draft, Chad Ryland out of Maryland, goes 13 spots after the 49ers took Jake Moody, to the PatriotsRyland has a hell of a leg, just has more question marks than Moody
-
Profile
@MaioccoNBCSThe Patriots select the second kicker of the draft, Chad Ryland of Maryland, at No. 112 overall.Perhaps, if the #49ers really wanted Jake Moody (they did, by the way), they took him at the right spot.
-
Profile
@mattbarrowsK Chad Ryland goes to the Patriots in the middle of the fourth round. That underscores the 49ers' assertion that a lot of teams were looking at kickers this year and that Jake Moody would have gotten snatched up in the fourth.
-
Profile
@LombardiHimselfThe Patriots pick a kicker, Chad Ryland, early in the 4th round at #112. This proves this 49ers right: Jake Moody would not have lasted until the 5th round. And the 49ers don't have a 4th round pick, so they used that late 3 on Moody

@hutchdieselThought Nick Saldiveri was a really intriguing option for the 49ers - especially if they like Colton McKivitz this year - in the slot they drafted LatuHe goes one pick later to start the fourth round - some see him as a guard vs. a tackle, but the size at tackle is there
