@nwagonerA ridiculous stat: #49ers LB Fred Warner has ten (10) pass breakups this season. Tied with the likes of Jalen Ramsey, Darius Slay and Harrison Smith for 11th most in NFL. Warner's completion % over expectation allowed per NFL Next Gen Stats is -16%.

@LombardiHimselfFrank Gore was in 49ers locker room yesterday. I told Gore that Christian McCaffrey's 30-yard cutback run to help seal game looked a lot like his 2013 run to help seal W vs Seattle at Candlestick in 2013. Gore agreed down to both him and CMC staying in bounds to run clock

@nwagonerNot sure a player getting overlooked more than #49ers LB Dre Greenlaw.Sequence on Miami possession that ended with incompletion on sideline offered a little of everything he does: big hits, sideline-to-sideline range, cover skills. Niners looking wise to sign him early.
-
Profile
@nwagonerProbably didn't get enough credit but #49ers K Robbie Gould was outstanding yesterday. He hit all 7 of his kicks: 4 field goals and 3 extra points. That long field goal after Niners botched the 4-minute drive sealed game.Gould now No. 10 all time in scoring in NFL history.

@grantcohnWith the 49ers track record, they must be prepared for Brock Purdy to get injured, so of course they should claim Baker Mayfield if they can.

@LombardiHimselfJust like the 49ers got a firsthand look at Christian McCaffrey, they also got a firsthand look at Baker Mayfield this season. They liked what they saw from the former. They couldn't have liked what they saw from the latter

@LombardiHimself3rd and 2. Shanahan ran vs this look. No safeties. 11 in the box. It obviously didn't work.It was the last time he didn't trust Brock Purdy. He realized there was no other choice, unless he wanted the 49ers to run into a brick wall over and over again.Major inflection point

@LombardiHimselfBrock Purdy was above-average in efficiency department today. Not bad for his first extended NFL action facing a defense that was throwing the blitzing kitchen sink at him.And thanks to the 49ers defense, Purdy was a whole lot more efficient than Tua the NFL leader coming in:

@LombardiHimselfGaroppolo had 2 serious throwing arm injuries last season that significantly compromised his postseason efficiency; 49ers still were possibly 1 play away from Super Bowl.2022 defense is also significantly better than 2021 unit. Its foolish to make season over proclamations

@LombardiHimselfHas a team ever paired a devastating QB injury with such a dominant team-wide performance especially defensively outside of that injury? That makes today so hard to unpack for the 49ers. They showed title-winning capability while losing starter at most important position
