Earlier Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that fullback Kyle Juszczyk suffered a knee sprain and bone bruise that will sideline him for two to three weeks. Juszczyk reportedly avoided any ligament damage that could have ended his season, making the prognosis encouraging.
Shanahan confirmed the approximate recovery timeline for Juszczyk, saying the fullback suffered a hyperextended knee and bone bruise.
"He'll miss a few weeks," he said.
No setbacks for Mike Evans
Wide receiver Mike Evans played through a rib injury against the Broncos, finishing with five catches for a game-high 76 receiving yards.
The good news is that Evans did not suffer a setback and is expected to be ready for Sunday's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
"I thought Mike and his five catches was huge," Shanahan said of Evan's performance against the Broncos. "Just him being able to get through that game was extremely impressive. I've seen a lot of guys try to do that with a rib, and very rarely do they last the whole game, and he lasted the whole game and played very well despite the rib injury.
"I haven't seen him yet today, just talking to the trainers, and I'm sure he's still in a lot of pain. You usually are the next day after something like that. But as far as I've been told, no setbacks, and hopefully it'll be a little bit better for him next week."
Other 49ers injury updates
Safety Marques Sigle sustained a high ankle sprain and will miss some time. The recovery timeline for such injuries can be somewhat unpredictable.
Cornerback Upton Stout is day-to-day with an AC joint issue in his shoulder. Rookie Ephesians Prysock or Nate Hobbs, who has been on injured reserve due to a groin injury, could fill in for Stout if he can't play against the Seahawks.
"We'll have to manage him through the week to see if we can get him to Sunday," Shanahan said.
As for players dealing with pre-existing injuries, Shanahan confirmed that defensive lineman Nick Bosa, James Thompson Jr., and wide receiver Christian Kirk are not expected to return this week.
However, Mykel Williams, who is working his way back from an ACL injury, could be activated ahead of Sunday's game.
"Mykel, hopefully, practice keeps going well, he has a good week of practice, and hopefully, we can get him activated at the end of the week," Shanahan said. "But it depends how the week goes."
Shanahan added that Williams will participate in team drills during this week's practices.
"He was able to do some last week," he noted.
