Head coach Kyle Shanahan had hoped that wide receiver Deebo Samuel and defensive end Dee Ford would practice on Thursday. Neither did practice and with just one more session this week, their availability for Sunday remains uncertain. Shanahan did note that the 49ers will know more about Samuel's status for this weekend as early as Friday.
Also missing from practice was the 49ers' leading rusher, Elijah Mitchell. The running back is dealing with what his coach called a "knee irritation" and is in the concussion protocol with teammate Trenton Cannon. Shanahan revealed that he is not optimistic about Mitchell's availability against the Bengals.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Bengals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
