Other teammates who are part of that group are offensive tackle Trent Williams and running back Jerick McKinnon.
"The guy that we're training with is Adrian Peterson and his trainer," Samuel shared. "And also, Trent Williams is out here. I mean, training with these guys is probably one of the hardest workouts I've been doing since I've been playing football."
Samuel had an impressive rookie campaign in 2019. He caught 57 receptions for 802 receiving yards and three touchdowns through 15 regular-season games. The receiver's 14.1 yards per catch led all 49ers players with more than 12 catches.
Samuel also hauled in 10 receptions for 127 yards through three playoff games, including a five-catch, 39-receiving-yard performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV. His 53 rushing yards in Super Bowl LIV set an NFL record for wide receivers in the big game.
As for getting together with his quarterback this offseason, the second-year receiver hopes to do that at some point. He spoke with Jimmy Garoppolo, along with other 49ers receivers, via Zoom on Wednesday morning, and the group wants to set up throwing sessions, if possible.
"Jimmy told us where he was at, and a couple of guys going back a little early," Samuel said.
