49ers have 12 draft picks after receiving 4 comp selections The 49ers were awarded four compensatory draft picks today, which gives them 12 selections in the upcoming draft. The 49ers, Cowboys and Patriots each received an NFL-high four compensatory picks. Compensatory picks are determined based on a formula involving the number of free agents a team lost and signed the previous season and the performance of those players. Their initial pick came at the No. 31 overall spot, where they selected former Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall in the first round. NFL Communications has officially announced the "NFL legends and active players" who will announce selections during Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Representing the San Francisco 49ers will be former defensive tackle Anthony "Spice" Adams, who spent four seasons with the team and nine in the NFL.
San Francisco selected Adams out of Penn State in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.
