On Wednesday, David Bonilla, of 49ers Webzone, reported on comments made by Ryan Harris, a former offensive lineman turned broadcaster and analyst, who announced the latest in the "Trey Lance is a bust" world tour. The San Francisco 49ers' young signal-caller has faced a barrage of questions and statements from national media, suggesting the second-year QB is not ready to be named the starter. The team's schedule will include seven matchups against opponents coming off a playoff appearance (Rams twice, Cardinals twice, Chiefs, Buccaneers, Raiders). Those opponents had a total winning percentage of .533 in 2021, which is good enough to tie with the Kansas City Chiefs as the fifth-toughest schedule

By not trading him by the end of the draft, the 49ers showed they are willing to wait out the situation and see if a trade partner emerges after late June or early July, when the team expects the quarterback to start throwing again. Nick Wagoner of ESPN recently stated that once Garoppolo recovers, the 49ers will again get on the phones and try to generate interest in the 30-year-old quarterback. Of course, that's not
