Niners president Paraag Marathe is not expected to retain his title after this season, but his duties in football operations will remain unchanged, a league source told The Chronicle late Thursday night. Marathe will remain the team's chief contract negotiator and manage their salary cap. Marathe, who has an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, was also part of a team that founded VenueNext, a mobile app company that started as a tech project by the 49ers. Marathe, the team's chief operating officer for three seasons before he became president, previously had a large role in stadium operations and helped oversee the development of Levi's Stadium.
