Rapid Reaction: San Francisco 49ers

Nov 17, 2013 at 5:00 PM--

NEW ORLEANS -- A few thoughts on the San Francisco 49ers' 23-20 loss against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday:What it means: The 49ers lost their second straight heart-breaking game. Last week, they lost at home to Carolina, by one point. The two losses come after the 49ers had a five-game win streak. San Francisco is now 6-4 and in a second-place tie with Arizona in the NFC West. Seattle is 10-1. The division race is over. The 49ers are still in the playoff hunt, but these losses will sting.

The San Francisco 49ers have completed their 2024 draft. They were able to fill some holes and grab some players who have a chance to make an impact. And there appeared to be a theme throughout the draft. The 49ers selected players who have played a lot of college football, so some of them should be ready to go sooner rather than later. They also went after guys who have stayed on the field, meaning they seem to be staying away from players with injury histories. It's hard to blame them for that. Perhaps the most shocking part of the 49ers draft is that they didn't take a defensive lineman. I thought they would draft a run-stuffing defensive tackle, and also an edge rusher. But they didn't. Here are my rapid reactions—my quick observations

By David Bonilla
Apr 25

George Kittle made his sentiments clear in a recent conversation about his teammate, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The tight end emphasized that he couldn't picture the San Francisco 49ers without Aiyuk and spoke highly of him in a discussion with Fox News Digital's Scott Thompson. Throughout the offseason, Kittle has had several conversations with Aiyuk and empathizes with his situation. Reflecting on his own contract negotiation in 2020 before reaching an agreement with the 49ers, Kittle offered his best advice to Aiyuk: "Hey, be patient." Kittle added, "It's just kind of the way the Niners do things. I didn't
