SANTA CLARA — In the 49ers’ 24-14 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, San Francisco’s PFF grades show the toughness it needed to have on the field to get the victory. Purdy received the third-highest grade (73.1) on the offense, behind only Mike Evans (88.9) and Trent Williams (73.1). The 49ers quarterback used his legs to extend plays and his passing ability to move the ball downfield.
Of the 49ers’ 140 rushing yards, 123 came after contact, giving them an average of 3.1 yards per run after contact.
Purdy used shorter passes, predominantly from 0 to 9 yards downfield, and let his teammates do the rest as 119 of Purdy’s 218 passing yards came after the catch.
Here is the breakdown of Purdy’s depth of target:
Behind the line of scrimmage: Completed three of four attempts
0-9 yards downfield: Completed 13 of 14 attempts
10-19 yards downfield: Completed two of six attempts
20 yards or more: Completed one of three attempts
