The San Francisco 49ers have canceled next week's mandatory minicamp, rewarding players for achieving 100 percent attendance during this week's organized team activities (OTAs).
The decision comes as the 49ers near the conclusion of their offseason program. OTAs are scheduled to wrap up on Thursday, allowing players to begin their summer break earlier than expected.
Coach Kyle Shanahan has canceled next week's mandatory minicamp as a reward for 100-percent attendance this week and the work put in during the 49ers' offseason program, a team official says.

With mandatory minicamp no longer on the schedule, the 49ers will have no additional team activities after Thursday until training camp, which is set to begin at the end of July.
The move gives players extra time to recover, recharge, and prepare for the rigors of training camp, when the real work and roster competition ahead of the 2026 season begins.
