49ers 2026 NFL Draft outlook: Is cornerback a priority after offseason adds?

When the 49ers announced their initial 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, the team had five cornerbacks on it. Currently, San Francisco has nine cornerbacks under contract, including Jakob Robinson and Tre Tomlinson who both spent the 2025 season on injured reserve. The three starters from last season — Deommodore Lenoir, Renardo Green and nickel back Upton Stout are set to return, along with Darrell Luter, who started in three games.At the NFL Annual League Meeting two weeks ago in Arizona, general manager John Lynch put to rest the rumors that Green was on the trading block, as was reported during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February.
