What to Know The San Francisco 49ers (12-4) defeated the Chicago Bears (11-5) by a score of 42-38 in a prime-time thriller on “Sunday Night Football” at Levi’s Stadium. Quarterback Brock Purdy had five touchdowns for the second consecutive week — three passing, two rushing — and completed 24 of his 33 passes for 303 yards and a 118.6 passer rating. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who originally was questionable for the game with a knee injury, hauled in five catches for 85 yards, while wideout Jauan Jennings and tight end Jake Tonges each had a receiving TD apiece. Christian McCaffrey had another monster rushing game, tallying 140 yards and a TD on the ground on 23 carries to go with 41 receiving yards on four catches.
