San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and wide receiver Jauan Jennings were involved in a tense sideline confrontation late in the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group reported that this was the second heated exchange between Shanahan and Jennings during the drive, which ended with a field-goal attempt before halftime.
According to Inman, the sequence unfolded as follows:
- Shanahan again yelled at Jennings, who was standing behind him.
- Jennings responded verbally.
- Shanahan shot him a sharp look.
- Staff members quickly intervened.

Moments later, Inman added that Shanahan and Jennings were "still going at it," with 49ers security official Mike Anderson stepping in to keep Jennings away from the coach.

At halftime, the 49ers trailed the Buccaneers 20-16. Jennings had yet to record a reception or target in the game. The receiver entered the game with nine catches for 129 yards and one touchdown through three games played.
