Brock Purdy to be limited at 49ers practice; Ricky Pearsall out with knee injury

SANTA CLARA — Quarterback Brock Purdy is scheduled to take some first-team practice snaps on Wednesday, as he aims for a return to the 49ers’ starting lineup.Purdy, who missed the past two games with a toe injury, is expected back on the field Wednesday to take part in limited work, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said.The 49ers (3-0) return to action against the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) on Sunday in a Week 4 game at Levi’s Stadium.Purdy was limited in his practice activity last week after being held out of all on-field work the previous week. He sustained the injury in the 49ers’ Week 1 win at the Seattle Seahawks.Meanwhile, Mac Jones, who started for the 49ers in victories against New Orleans and Arizona, is also scheduled for limited work, Shanahan said. Jones aggravated a left knee sprain and was not expected to participate in practice on Wednesday, Shanahan said.In two games, Jones has 53 completions in 80 attempts (66.3 percent) for 563 yards with four touchdowns, one interception and a passer rating of 98.1.The 49ers had another issue coming out of Sunday’s game, as wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was scheduled to be held...
