Jake Moody’s roller coaster ride continues in 49ers’ preseason win vs. Chargers

SANTA CLARA — Jake Moody’s roller coaster of a preseason continued when the 49ers and Chargers met up for the final exhibition contest at Levi’s Stadium.The third-year Michigan product, who was coming off of a game-winning 59-yard field goal in the team’s Preseason Week 2 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, struggled during pregame warmups on Saturday. At times, the football did not even hit the nets that hang behind the uprights.One kick, in particular, was snagged by a young fan who ran up the stairs with what he thought would be a new souvenir.Once the game began, Moody had his first chance to put points on the board following a Tanner Mordecai pass to Demarcus Robinson for a touchdown. Unfortunately for the kicker and his team, the ball sailed wide left, limiting the lead to 6-0.Through Moody’s struggles continue, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan does not appear to be making a change at the position. “I thought he had one of the best games I’ve seen a guy have last week,” Shanahan said. “I know he missed an extra point today which definitely doesn’t make us happy, but we will see how it goes in the year.”Moody didn’t...
