Ricky Pearsall has ‘good first day’ back at 49ers practice as defense shows out

SANTA CLARA — The 49ers welcomed Ricky Pearsall back to practice on Sunday.The second-year wide receiver, who was activated off the PUP list after recovering from a hamstring injury, worked with the special-teams unit returning punts and with the offense during team drills. Coach Kyle Shanahan was happy to have the young wideout back in the mix.“It was nice,” Shanahan said. “His rep count was real low. I think he got eight reps today, but [we’ll] see how he did with recovery and stuff.
