San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan had little to report on injuries following the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, noting he only had an update on one player. Rookie cornerback Renardo Green exited the game in the second half with a toe injury and did not return.
Hopefully, the injury isn't serious. Shanahan is expected to provide more information during his Monday afternoon conference call with reporters. Additional injuries may come to light as players report to the team facility for evaluation.
Green was prepared for a significant role against the Buccaneers. He stepped in for veteran starter Charvarius Ward, who had been away from the team following the passing of his daughter.
A second-round pick out of Florida State, Green entered the game as Pro Football Focus's second-highest-graded rookie cornerback. He finished with five tackles and two passes defensed.
