The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Week 3 matchup at home against the New York Giants. These players will not suit up for the game.
Inactives:
- WR Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder)
- QB Brandon Allen
- RB Tyrion Davis-Price
- DL Kalia Davis
- LB Jalen Graham
- CB Ambry Thomas (knee)
- OL Nick Zakelj
On Wednesday, the 49ers listed two players, Aiyuk and Thomas, as "questionable." Neither is active. Aiyuk suffered a shoulder injury against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, while Thomas has been working through a knee injury.
On Wednesday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reported that Thomas was expected to play against the Giants. That plan either changed or Anderson was incorrect. Hours before kickoff, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Aiyuk, who the 49ers expected to be a game-time decision, would not suit up.
"So Brandon's working really hard. He's a warrior," general manager John Lynch said Wednesday morning. "You can see it in his play. He's having fun because I think everything's starting to click for him. So I know he's a guy who doesn't want to miss [a game]."
The 49ers announced several roster moves just hours before kickoff. The team promoted cornerback Tre Swilling from the practice squad to the active roster, released recently-signed cornerback Anthony Brown, and temporarily elevated wide receiver Chris Conley and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles from the practice squad.
