The San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver and sometimes running back, Deebo Samuel, spoke with reporters after Friday's practice before traveling to Southern California for Sunday's NFC Championship Game matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Samuel has noted in the past that he doesn't spend a whole lot of time studying other NFL wideouts. On Friday, he was asked why that is.

"There's not another receiver in this league that plays like me and do the things that I do," Samuel answered. "So I don't see the need to watch anybody that don't do the things that I do."

Samuel isn't exaggerating. It would be difficult to find another NFL receiver who is as versatile of an offensive weapon as Samuel. The third-year player had 77 receptions, 59 rushing attempts, and even threw a touchdown pass this season.

Samuel led the team with 1,405 receiving yards while adding 365 rushing yards and 14 total touchdowns (six receiving, eight rushing) through 16 games. His eight rushing touchdowns led the team. In addition, he has six catches for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown through the team's two playoff games.

The 49ers hope Samuel's dynamic play is enough to help beat the Rams on Sunday, sending San Francisco to its second Super Bowl in three years.

When asked about the possibility of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk not being on the San Francisco 49ers roster on Friday morning, general manager John Lynch responded, "I wouldn't anticipate that." We're working through that." While Lynch didn't elaborate on the conversations occurring behind closed doors, Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that a potential trade remains a

Amidst swirling trade rumors surrounding Brandon Aiyuk, the speculation surrounding Deebo Samuel's future with the San Francisco 49ers seems to have quieted down. According to Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, the 49ers have assured Samuel that he will not be involved in any pre- or post-draft transactions, ensuring his place on the roster for the time being. "Samuel, who signed a three-year, $71.55 million extension before the 2022 season, has been assured by his bosses that he will not be dealt during or after the draft," Silver reported, citing a source familiar with the discussions. With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, it's common for the rumor mill to start churning, especially with players who are actively seeking a new contract. It was just two short years ago that WR Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers prior to draft day, only for cooler heads to prevail and eventually agree to a new deal. Now, it's WR Brandon Aiyuk's turn to try and get paid and rumors surfaced over the weekend that he too would request to be dealt. While that report was quickly shot down by his agent, there's still a lot of discussion about Aiyuk's future and if other teams will come calling on draft night. Former NFL WR: Brandon Aiyuk told me he doesn't want to leave 49ers

Former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh claims to have recently spoken to Brandon Aiyuk, stating that the star player has no desire to leave the San Francisco 49ers. Aiyuk and the 49ers are currently negotiating a contract extension, aiming to finalize a new deal. Of course, that hasn't prevented significant media speculation surrounding Aiyuk's future, with many wondering if the delay might hint at a potential trade. Well-informed 49ers fans know that the team typically finalizes its significant contract extensions closer to training camp, as seen with George Kittle in 2020, Fred Warner in 2021, and Deebo Samuel in 2022. Last year, negotiations with Nick Bosa concluded just days before Week
