The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Running back Elijah Mitchell did not practice after leaving — and later returning — to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted today that the injury was a bit worse than what he hoped but hasn't ruled the rookie out for this weekend's game.

"A little worse than a stinger," Shanahan said, "so that's why he can't go today. He's got a chance at Sunday."

The team's other rookie running back, Trey Sermon, practiced with a blue no-contact jersey on. He remains in the concussion protocol after suffering a blow to the head on his first NFL carry.

"He's on a good path," Shanahan said.

Defensive lineman Kevin Givens and running back JaMycal Hasty are headed to injured reserve and are expected to be out a while.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Packers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations.
