The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Detroit Lions on Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

All eyes were on rookie quarterback Trey Lance as the team's final practice of the week started. The quarterback was once again throwing the football fine, as was the case on Wednesday and Thursday.

"He's doing good. He's had a good week," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters today.

Shanahan added that the plan for Lance on Sunday has not changed due to the injury, which would indicate that the rookie quarterback will likely be available against the Lions.

Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, and wide receiver Jalen Hurd did not practice. Hurd has been ruled out while Moseley and Kinlaw are listed as doubtful. Shanahan said there remains a chance that Kinlaw is available on Sunday.

For the Lions, left tackle Taylor Decker has been ruled out. Rookie Penei Sewell is expected to start in his place and go against Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, and the rest of the 49ers pass rushers.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Lions, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports.

The San Francisco 49ers are actively working to sign wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to a contract extension, aiming to maintain their talented young core of players. The team has reached agreements with star players during each of the last four offseasons, securing George Kittle in 2020, Fred Warner in 2021, Deebo Samuel in 2022, and Nick Bosa in 2023. Another key contributor poised for a new deal next offseason is quarterback Brock Purdy. Over the last couple of years, the 49ers have been in the unique position of not having to pay much money (relatively) to stock their quarterback room while reaping the benefits of superb play from their starting signal-caller. However,

By David Bonilla
Mar 25

According to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York is preparing to assume the role of principal owner of the team by acquiring the necessary equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York. "The transaction and title change is subject to NFL approval, expected during the league meetings underway today in Orlando," Fischer wrote.
