In 2022, the San Francisco 49ers seemed to have an embarrassment of riches at the quarterback spot. They had second-year player, and first-year starter Trey Lance, who they had traded the world away to draft. They had Jimmy Garoppolo, the team's starting QB from late 2017-2021, as Lance's backup. And they had a seventh-round draft pick in Brock Purdy, though he would be unlikely to play. Or so we thought.
After Lance and Garoppolo went down, Purdy surprised everyone by keeping the ship afloat and leading the 49ers back to the NFC Championship Game. But after an injury to the UCL in his throwing arm, Purdy's 2023 season was in jeopardy. Which quarterbacks the 49ers would take to training camp was now even more important. 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk reacts to report that Steelers are interested

This morning, Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh-area radio station 93.7 The Fan reported that the Steelers have "shown interest" in trading for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Hours later, Aiyuk shared the following on social media, leading some to believe that the receiver might be open to joining the East Coast team.

Report: 49ers CEO Jed York set to become principal owner

According to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York is preparing to assume the role of principal owner of the team by acquiring the necessary equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York.
"The transaction and title change is subject to NFL approval, expected during the league meetings underway today in Orlando," Fischer wrote. "It's not known precisely how much of the club Jed York will own individually after this deal, but the family owns more than 95% of the 49ers, valued at $6B by Forbes in 2023."
Fischer also notes that York will maintain his position as CEO of the team, where he will continue to directly oversee
Titans signing ex-49ers DT Sebastian Joseph-Day

According to the player's agent, former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. He is an unrestricted free agent.
