17 quick, aggravating observations from the 49ers loss in Denver

By Marc Adams

Well, that was about as aggravating as a loss can get. The San Francisco 49ers defense was dominant. The offense was offensive. Disgusting. Predictable. I could go on, but I'm guessing you already have a plethora of words to describe last night's offensive performance for yourself. So I won't add any more. At halftime, this game seemed strikingly familiar. Dominating a team on the road, but barely having any points to show for it. And just like that stormy game in Chicago, the 49ers sank in the second half, giving up the lead, and then failing to take the lead back. One difference was the quarterback. The positive side of this is that the 49ers could not trade veteran Jimmy Garoppolo in the offseason, and he was retained as the backup QB. Garoppolo will now serve as the starting quarterback. The negative side of this is twofold: the first (and obvious) negative aspect of the injury is that it's a terrible turn of events for Lance. He now has to endure a long rehab, and miss the season that was laid out as his first season as the 49ers starting quarterback. The second negative aspect is that this injury costs Lance a valuable season of reps, something he desperately needed. Lance's development has

Here are the defensive grades for the 49ers in Week 3: Defensive Line: A About 90 minutes prior to game time, reports surfaced that the 49ers would be without star defensive tackle Arik Armstead, potentially making the matchup even tougher, especially with San Francisco facing off against the strong running back duo of Javonte Williams and
