49ers have three players named to Pro Bowl
As disappointing as this season has been for the San Francisco 49ers, they still maintain elite talent at key positions.

Adam Peters explains why the 49ers were at Trevor Lawrence's pro day
By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers VP of player personnel Adam Peters recently spoke with Matt Barrows of The Athletic. He was asked about the team's presence in South Carolina to watch Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Niners own the No. 12 overall pick in the upcoming draft, and Lawrence is expected to be the top selection, going to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yet, San Francisco was among 17 teams in attendance to watch Lawrence.
Peters reminds everyone that there were other players there. For example, one of the receivers that Lawrence was throwing to during the workout was Cornell Powell, who caught 53 passes for 882 yards and seven touchdowns for the Tigers last season.

ESPN's Smith and Kellerman have different QB predictions for the 49ers
By David Bonilla

Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman of ESPN's First Take have different predictions on who will start at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers during the upcoming season. Kellerman often defends Jimmy Garoppolo against Smith's criticisms, so you might naturally assume that Kellerman would predict that San Francisco would avoid shaking things up. You might also assume that the critical Smith predicts that the 49ers move on from Garoppolo.
The opposite is true. Smith envisions San Francisco sticking with Garoppolo while Kellerman has another quarterback in mind to lead head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense.
"Me personally, I think it's going to be Jimmy G (as the 49ers' starter)," Smith declared. "That's what I believe. I believe that everybody's been

Justin Melo of The Draft Network provided yet another intriguing nugget from last month's Senior Bowl. He says University of Minnesota cornerback Benjamin St-Juste named the San Francisco 49ers among the teams that he felt he had a "great connection" with during meetings leading to the annual collegiate all-star game. St-Juste also mentioned the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers, per Melo.

Orlovsky believes 49ers become Super Bowl contenders with Carson Wentz
By David Bonilla
Feb 17, 2021
There is no indication that the San Francisco 49ers are serious about Carson Wentz. There was a report that the team inquired about the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, but that may have just been general manager John Lynch and company doing their due diligence. It's always worth knowing the going rate for a former starting NFL quarterback, after all.
Wentz isn't a fan-favorite trade candidate either. He was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league last season. His 65.0 overall Pro Football Focus grade was a career-low.
One ESPN analyst feels Wentz paired with the 49ers could be a game-changer, though. Former quarterback Dan Orlovsky recently said that the Eagles passer with the Indianapolis Colts or San Francisco would make either team a Super Bowl
