The 49ers announced they placed offensive lineman Ben Garland on injured reserve Tuesday. Garland strained his calf after playing 66 of 73 snaps. The San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has officially placed cornerbacks Jamar Taylor and Ken Webster on injured reserve. The team also waived safety Chris Edwards. Taylor and Webster were both injured during Sunday's 23-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Taylor suffered a torn ACL, and Webster sustained what head coach Kyle Shanahan described as a "pretty severe hamstring pull." The injuries end their seasons. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the San Francisco 49ers have claimed former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Takkarist McKinley. He still needs to pass a physical to join the roster. McKinley failed to do so this week with the Cincinnati Bengals, who claimed him off waivers last week.
