Kyle Shanahan spoke with the voice of the San Francisco 49ers, Greg Papa, during the team's virtual State of the Franchise event this week. The head coach was asked what he sees from his quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, who isn't worried about recovering from an ACL injury this offseason. "I think Jimmy had an unbelievable year last year," Shanahan said. "When you look at him statistically, just percentages and stuff of what he did, he's extremely accurate, kept us in some very good situations, and won a few games for us, too. He had a number of games where he had to come out huge on some 3rd-and-longs, some last-minute drives, and make some big plays that won us some games." San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was part of a Los Angeles Times panel, which also consisted of Rams wide receiver Robert Woods, Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy, and communist LZ Granderson. Sherman told the story of his time in 2017 when the protesting during the national anthem was spreading across the league following controversial words by President Trump. Sherman was with the Seattle Seahawks at the time. He remembers his coach at the time, Pete Carroll, stopping them before a game against the Tennessee Titans, and asked if they wanted to do something as a team. They did not. Bryant Young expects 49ers' sixth championship to 'happen soon'

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that former defensive lineman Bryant Young will be 29th inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. Hall of Fame. Young spoke during the team's virtual State of the Franchise event this week and discussed the current 49ers and their quest to add to the trophy case.
